Have you been up the many steps to Mount Bonnell? If not, you are in for one of the most beautiful attractions in Austin!Mount Bonnell has been a major attraction in Austin since the 1850s. This scenic overlook is the highest point in the Austin City Limits. It requires a climb up many steps, but once you get to the top, the view over Lake Austin is stunning. You can also see downtown and the 360 bridge from up here.
It is a very romantic spot, perfect for a date night or even a proposal. Along the way, you will pass by the Dry Creek Bar sitting among some of the most beautiful homes in the city. For those that can’t make the steps, you can take the trail off to the right which curves up to the top.
Mount Bonnell is considered a park and is open from 7:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M. For a little extra fun on the way, you will pass by the Dry Creek Bar sitting among some of the most beautiful homes in the city.
This old place has been a favorite to locals since no one knows when, and many stories have been told about who has shown up there! It still operates if you want to stop in.
